The Fresno Unified Family are made proud ambassadors of the district by being thoroughly engaged, empowered and informed through reliable, trustworthy, and transparent communications.
Mission
The Communications team works to engage, empower and inform all students, staff and families through consistent, clear, and deeply humanized communications that are easily accessible for anyone, anywhere.
The Communications department is part of the Public Engagement Division, along with Parent University and Translation and Interpretation Services.

How to use communications
External Communications
Our Communications Office coordinates all essential and emergency communications to students and their families. It also disseminates positive news and important information to families and the broader community, including partners who share the district’s goal of preparing students for college and careers. The following are the external communications tools:
- Automated Phone Calls or Messages - via ParentSquare
- Faces of Fresno Unified - New digital magazine focused on highlighting the remarkable students and staff that make up Fresno Unified.
- Community Zone - Emailed twice a month to a community email list
- District Website - The district website houses all the communications-related material.
- Social Media- Fresno Unified has a Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Videos - Our team produces an average of 30 videos a month to highlight Fresno Unified’s great work and to support various district initiatives and programs.
Internal Communications
Our Communications Office is at the forefront of informing employees of critical information as well as positive news about the district. The following are the internal communications tools:

Special Events & Activities
In addition to organizing our district press conferences, the Communications Office puts together a few different large-scale events and activities throughout the year.
Held in February, honors exemplary employees in five categories. The Communications Office encourages nominations and assembles panels of community members, retired employees and communications staff to interview finalists. This event attracts 700 guests.
